Dear Alumnus,

Let me apprise you of the provision of our constitution (article 10.2 and 12) that stipulates holding the Annual general meeting of the association for the current financial year within 30th June 2020.

Unfortunately, under the present circumstances it is not possible to hold the meeting within the stipulated period. As you are well aware the Government has imposed restriction on large gatherings anywhere for meeting. We must dutifully adhere to the rules and regulations laid down by the government for controlling Covid-19 pandemic.

Keeping in view the circumstances, we may not be able to hold the Annual General Meeting till the situation gets stable and normal.

We shall intimate you the date of meeting in due course as soon as the situation is declared to be under control. Some of the problems we are facing which need to be deliberated in Annual general Meeting apart from routine Agenda. I expect AGM may please advice and approve the proposal.

A). We have one account in Axis Bank in C. R. Park. In 2010 to 2011, the office bearers of both outgoing and incoming did not change the signatories. No body changed it later on. Our committee noticed and office bearers tried to recover the amount of Rs 70,000/ by changing the signatories from 2010-2011 to 2019-2020. Secretary and treasurer of 2011-2012 of the past are co-operating but the President has refused to sign the document giving some lame logic. We do not have any alternative but to give him legal notice. In case it fails we have to request to AGM to write off RS 70,000/.

B). Our Association had been registered on 2002. As per I.T. Rule 1961- article 12A, 12AA the registration to be renewed after 5 years. It was due on 2007. No further renewal has been done till now. Moreover, the address mentioned in Association I-1715 C. R. Park (Shankar das House who has been passed away long back). If the renewal is not done Association have to pay Tax as per Article 10(23C) of I.T. - 1961 amended in 2020.

We will send by e-mail the amendment for renewal and change of address for your comments and approval.

C). A basement was purchased by Association at 40/154 LGF C. R. Park on 2012.

Same property was built in 1990, purchased by Mr. Manab Datta from the developers Mr. S. K. Datta at Rs 5 lakhs on 2006. Alumni Association purchased the same basement on 2012 at a price Rs 32 lakhs (Plus registration fee).

No govt. approval evaluator's report was found. Parallel quotations of at least three are not available.

The basement started leaking and sewage/toilet water with bad smell came to even knee deep from 2015 onwards at least 15 or more times. Manually this was cleaned. Even the Saraswati idol was immersed in toilet water. Even today without any rain there is full of sewage water. Some photograph is being sent now. Lot of expenditure has been done to repair but there was no result. Some people are doubting the building may collapsed.

HELP! #COVID-19

Dear all,

As you are aware, Covid19 has already affected our country. As an alumni association, we would like to contribute to our society during this crucial time.

Our beloved alumnus Sakshar, Amalendu & Subhajit has already been co-ordinating with few dedicated individuals who are working for the needy ones at the ground zero. We are in touch with those individuals and shall help them out with a common contribution from JU Delhi alumni chapter.
